Thanks to Covid19 many of us have more free time to spend on hobbies and reading is one of those that is usually forgotten. Either due to lack of time or simply because who likes to carry heavy books around? Since I discover the world of ebooks, here’s my review of Kobo ebook reader, I got back to my reading hobby. So I thought, it would be nice to share some ebooks to read during the quarantine.

If you like romances and have watched the movie Me Before You, with Emilia Clarke (yes, the Mother of Dragons), you may know that it is based on a book by Jojo Moyes. I liked the movie, so with was with no surprise that once I heard it was based on a book and that there were two other books from this author, I knew I had to check them out.
After You by Jojo Moyes
“Louisa Clark is no longer just an ordinary girl living an ordinary life. After the transformative six months spent with Will Traynor, she is struggling without him. When an extraordinary accident forces Lou to return home to her family, she can’t help but feel she’s right back where she started.
Her body heals, but Lou herself knows that she needs to be kick-started back to life. Which is how she ends up in a church basement with the members of the Moving On support group, who share insights, laughter, frustrations, and terrible cookies. They will also lead her to the strong, capable Sam Fielding—the paramedic, whose business is life and death, and the one man who might be able to understand her. Then a figure from Will’s past appears and hijacks all her plans, propelling her into a very different future…”

After seeing Me Before You, I could not help but picturing Emilia Clarke’s funny faces while reading this book. It’s light, funny, well written and if you like romances, give it a read. Vote: 4.5/5
Still Me by Jojo Moyes
“Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She steps into the world of the superrich, working for Leonard Gopnik and his much younger second wife, Agnes. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her new job and New York life.
As she begins to mix in New York high society, Lou meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. Before long, Lou finds herself torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she feels at home.”

I also liked this one and even though it was a nice storyline, it didn’t catch my attention as much as After You. Feels like the right final chapter on Louisa Clark’s adventures; she came such a long way… Vote: 4/5
After I was done with these two romances I needed some action. So I asked a friend of mine who is also into books if he had any ebook suggestions. He recommended Dawn Girl, so I ordered it. Let me tell you: I read this book within 48 hours! I simply couldn’t stop; so good that I could not believe it.
Dawn Girl by Leslie Wolfe
“Her blue eyes wide open, glossed over. A few specks of sand clung to her long, dark lashes. Her beautiful face, immobile, covered in sparkling flecks of sand. Her lips slightly parted as if to let a last breath escape.
Who is the beautiful girl found at dawn, on a deserted stretch of white sand beach? What is her secret?
FBI Special Agent Tess Winnett searches for answers relentlessly. With each step, each new finding, she uncovers unsettling facts leading to a single possible conclusion: Dawn Girl is not the only victim. Her killer has killed before.
Hiding a terrible secret of her own, Special Agent Tess Winnett faces her inmost fears, in a heart-stopping race to catch a killer who’s getting ready to end yet another life. Will she find the killer in time? Will she be able to stop him? At what cost?”

Out of the 4 books, this was by far my favorite! And like I wrote above, I finished it within 48 hours. It’s like you are watching a CSI episode but then on a book format! So good and recommend it if you like thrillers. Vote: 5/5.
And my last ebook recommendation to read during quarantine comes as no surprise; The Tattooist of Auschwitz. This is a best seller that pretty much everyone has read by now, but in case you didn’t please go ahead and start today. It is a heavy, yet, beautiful love story during tragic times of
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
“In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (the German word for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners.
Imprisoned for more than two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism—but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his privileged position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive.”
