Whoever plans on going to visit Lisbon for the first time, might have Sintra in his/her itinerary. It is no surprise, are Sintra is such a beautiful village, that one can simply not skip.
It was back in October last year, that I also went and visited this charming, picturesque village.
I had a great “excuse” do to so (as if anyone needs it!): I had some real tourists with me that never been there before!
I put on my “tourist-guide” outfit and so we went!
Now, one must know a couple of things prior their visit to Sintra:
- Sintra has a micro-climate of its own. Just because it’s sunny & warm in Lisbon, it doesn’t mean it will be the same in there. Always, and I mean ALWAYS, take a jacket with you.
- Put on your most comfortable shoes.
- Be prepared for waiting in lines; you won’t be the only one wanting to visit all those jaw-dropping palaces.
I spent a full day in there, walked waaaaaay too many steps, the weather was crazy but it was soooo worth it!
The air in Sintra is so pure and fresh that it will make your lungs jump of happiness. Quiet sceneries and landscapes will make your mind unwind from the busy life you left on hold, at home, waiting for you to return.
A total treat for the soul, I would say.
Just walk around, climb as high as you can, sit down and relax. Enjoy the views, let your hair go wild with the wind. Mine did…
They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so, I will shut up for now, and let you enjoy the sights of Sintra.
Come along!
Did you enjoy the Castle of Moors?
I have good news: this was just the 1st part!! There will be more posts about Sintra.
My advice: subscribe to my newsletter so you’ll be notified once they are online.
See you soon!
