As far as my memory goes, I have been a book-lover.
Staring at endless bookshelves at stores or libraries always felt so good and somehow inspiring.
I always have a hard time going to a bookstore and simply leave with an empty hand. To me, you can always find a book that may suit your mood at the moment or helps you to understand a subject that you recently started to explore, or just simply, a book to keep you company, no matter the situation.
And that is why, I truly believe, books can be your best friend.
I know that to me, they are among my best friends.
Over here, the pile of books yet to read never cease to increase; how’s it at your end? Am I the only book hoarder over here? Please say no…
Even though my love for books is quite big, during the last years, I have not been an active reader. Somehow, there were always other things coming in the way of me just sitting somewhere cozy, grab my book and dive into the story.
But those times are over!
Finally took the step, and made clear (especially to myself) that if I have 30min to scroll on social media without any particular reason, then I can just better use that time and read a chapter or 2.
It’s all about priorities, right?
With this in mind, I started reading again.
My journey began with “Astrophysics for people in a hurry” by Neil deGrasse Tyson.
With only 244 pages, a super catchy and funny title I knew this would be a great start.
Not only I have always been an astrophysics enthusiast (or any field of Physics, to be honest), I suspected that this book had all the key ingredients to keep me hooked. Guess what? It did!!
I am almost finished!! Yahoo
I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in anything Cosmos related, but do not worry; Neil has the fantastic ability to explain things in a very simple way so that anyone can easily follow and enjoy this book.
Next on my list is “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking.
Meanwhile, I will be getting used to reading ebooks; promise to write more about this subject in the near future, if you are interested.
What are you reading at the moment?
And what are your favorite types of books?
