Hello!!
Not sure if you know that by now or not, but I love books. And reading!
As far as my memory goes, I always liked reading, since a very young age (Mom, if you’re reading this, please confirm it haha). But somehow, along the way, while “adulting” I kind of forgot about it.
Until I found the world of ebooks and then reading came back to my life!
And that’s why today’s post is all about my reading buddy: Kobo.

I will try to make this post as easy and to point as possible, so let’s go!
What it is:
The ebook I own is the Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 and bellow are some of the specs that made me go for this ebook instead of any other:
– Waterproof
– Touchscreen: 6.8″ Carta e-ink; this type of screen, simulates the paper touch feeling you’d have if reading a traditional book.
– Lightweight: only 207g which makes it perfect to throw it in your everyday bag or bring on vacation.
– Memory: 8GB which holds up to 6000 ebooks!!
– Formats: it supports many formats, meaning you can read from various sources (ex: EPUB, PDF, MOBI, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TXT, HTML and many more).
– Connectivity: Wi-Fi and Micro USB.
For more specs, visit the Kobo website.

Pros:
Since I got this ebook, I started to read a lot more and more frequently, and I am sure this was all because I could carry it everywhere without having a heavy traditional book in my bag.
Also, one of my favorite places to read is by the pool or at the beach, so the fact that it’s waterproof is a massive plus!
So in summary, I’d point out as pros:
Compact size, lightweight and waterproof.
Long battery life.
Brightness adjusted for “night mode”!!
Cons:
To be honest, I haven’t found any so far!
Oh wait, maybe the price: I got mine in Portugal, at Fnac, for about 200Eur, if I’m not mistaken.
It’s been over a year, so sorry if the price may not be accurate anymore.
What I read so far:
Let me confess something: I love a good Romance book, and especially if it has some adventure in it or some sort of thrill.
Back in my “traditional book” days, I’d be reading a lot of Dan Brown, for example, or even José Rodrigues dos Santos, which is a Portuguese author that writes also great romance books, just like I described above.
However, when I got the Kobo, I discovered Sophie Love’s books called “The Inn at Sunset Harbor” and I really enjoyed it and read all 6 of them!
What I am reading:
Right now, I am about to finish “After You” by Jojo Moyes, the author of “Me Before You“, which you may know from the movie with the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clark.
I like it so far, and I can’t avoid but picturing Emilia throughout the whole book with her funny facial expressions.
Do I recommend it?
If you haven’t figured it out yet, let me make it clear: YES!!
For all book lovers out there that do not want to carry heavy books up and down, this is a great option.
I was a bit reluctant in the beginning to leave my good old paper books, but the practicality of having 6000 books for about 210g on my purse/luggage, can’t be beaten!

Tell me: are you also into reading? And if so, are you team paper or team ebook?
Also, if you have any book recommendations, please leave it in the comments section; I need to find new books to read very soon.
I hope you liked this post.
P.S. This post is not sponsored. Just my humble opinion as a book lover who does not like heavy things in her purse/luggage.
See you soon!

Super recomendo!
Great post! I'm still undecided on whether to make the switch to ebooks as I love paper books so much! Although the space saving aspect does entice me!

I totally understand you; but when it comes to practicality, ebooks are so much easier.
Give it thought 😉
Thanks for your visit & hope to see you more times! 🙂
