7 Netflix suggestions – my current favorites

Hello friends, how are you all doing?
I hope you are well and in good health! That’s the most important thing right now, am I right? For today’s post, I thought it would be a cool idea to share with you 7 Netflix suggestions of movies and series I saw lately.
No matter how many different activities one can plan, nothing beats a good Netflix & chill, right?😊

7 Netflix suggestions

I’ve got 3 movie suggestions and 4 different series for you. I hope you like them. Let’s get started!

Movie Suggestions

Richard Says Goodbye

Richard (Johnny Depp) learns he has six months to live, so he decided to use his time in the most rebellious way and becomes a party animal while keeping his job as a college teacher. But, he decides to do it differently and, I’d say in an unusual way, which causes quite some mixed feelings among his fellow colleagues.
It’s a drama yet with some comedy in it.

The African Doctor

This movie is based on the true story of Seyolo Zantoko, who is a recent medical graduate of Congolese descent in France. He struggles to integrate into a rural village but after some plot twists he ends up being one of the most respected doctors in that region.
Another drama with comedy in it, yep, one of my favorite types of movies, especially when based on true stories.

15:17 to Paris

Once again, another movie based on true events. This time, this movie is about three American friends who are traveling through Europe and end up saving many lives of passengers from a terrorist attack while traveling on the 15:17 train to Paris.
It is quite brutal at some times, but totally worth your time, in my opinion.

Series Suggestion

My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman

David Letterman doesn’t need any introduction and I was glad when I found he had a show on Netflix. I’m a huge fan of his way of interviewing and his sense of humor.
In this show, Letterman brings in well-known celebrities, from Presidents to actors, or even musicians, making each episode unique and very entertaining. Dave shows us a different side of well-known people, on a very intimate and simplistic set.
Totally recommend it!

Ozark

A different take on Mexica drug cartels and money laundering, this drama series is a must! In short words, the series revolves around Marty Byrde and his family who moved from Chicago to if you like a summer resort area called Ozarks. Right now, season 3 is out and I just finished it! So cool, with a completely crazy ending.
If you haven’t seen this series, don’t wait any longer.

Spinning Out

I found out about this series by accident, but little I know that soon I’d be hooked on it. haha
The series is about a figure skating young lady who aspires to go to the Olympics. However, her faith changes once she suffers a severe injury that not only incapacitated her for a while but mostly damages her self confidence.
Her mental health is so fragile that takes all her hopes away. Unfortunately, there is only one season and I just learned that Netflix will not renew the show… Boooo

Madam C.J. Walker

This one is a mini-series of 4 episodes based on the life of the first female self-made millionaire. I found it super interesting to see how this lady did not let the circumstances define her nor her dreams.
Super inspiring to watch!

    1. You’ll love Madame C.J. Walker! It’s so inspiring!
Ozark can be quite dark sometimes, but it’s pretty cool 😉
      Good luck with your business!!

  1. I loved Madam C.J Walker. I thought it was really inspiring and truly reflective of the time period (from what I’ve learned and heard about). I’ve had Ozark on my list for a while and never pressed play so I’ll need to start watching that. 15:17 to Paris sounds really interesting so thanks for the recommendations!

    Hope you’re keeping well.
    James.
